COMPLETED EPISODES OF THE SHY LIFE PODCAST (2018-2019)

COMPLETED EPISODES OF...
THE SHY LIFE PODCAST
(2018-2019)

Normal Live Episode (Released)

This is just a normal live episode of the show until Ikk gets a phone call from Zap... But you're dead? Yes! I know... I'm coming to get you... Paul gets a phone call from Santa asking if he can take over this year... (Maybe Santa is me... or Toppie... or Big Fatty)??

Christmas Special (Released)

There is a flashback to what happened last episode... Paul is excited and surprisingly Christmassy. He presumes that Ikk will help - but hasn't gotten around to asking him. Meanwhile Ikk is scared of the call he received and has bad dreams (hopefully featuring Big Fatty - or if not time then just use the old message but all echo-y). Cromitty and Yeti Uncle John head to Hyde Park to find that the Christmas market is just sound effects. Paul remembers how he went on Radio Wey recently. Paul and the Martin arrive on the space-ship but find that it isn't going to be delivering presents after-all - but that Ikk is on the run... He has had enough of earth and wants to get the hell out of there!!

Started episode: 26/11/2018 - released: 23/12/2018

Additional: More from Radio Wey / Talking with Jo about Christmas / Toppie / Jay The H

Changes to finished episode:

Martin and Cuthbert do not come on the spaceship in the finished version - Paul speaks with him, but he is spending time with Cuthbert - who also does not feature as much as originally intended; although we do hear him reading some Christmas carols.

Christmas Day Episode (Inserts Completed)

Cromitty and Yeti Uncle John get left behind and have to deliver all the local presents - which they manage. Meanwhile, Paul and Ikk etc are still on the spaceship - and although Paul can contact the team back home they are stuck in space... Will they EVER get home!?!

I won't include any flashbacks or inserts during the live show - but will add them into the podcast version:

Cromitty and Yeti Uncle John are running the show. They are quite tired after helping deliver all the presents!

They explain that Paul is in space (can insert flashback later) We have been receiving messages from him and we'll try and make them available in the podcast version of the show!

John has presents to open from listeners... Cromitty realises that they are Paul's!

CHAT-ROOM!?!

BOXING DAY EPISODE OF BIG FATTY ONLINE (Complete)

Big Fatty asks Paul to be the host for the Boxing Day episode of the show. Paul holds the show together - mentions his live show and also the New Year's Eve ep. Paul and Ikk share their alternate version of the theme music - it didn't seem right though; we wanted Big Fatty here in spirit even if he couldn't be here in person. Ikk announces that there are no birthdays. Jay pops by. Cuthbert reads xmas jokes. Yeti Uncle John makes a recording of BF go backwards and forwards! Martin dresses up as Poodle. Bettina and Dameus call in to wish the listeners A HAPPY BOXING DAY! We use the bit of PH saying "Move Your Hole" from episode 210.

Note: Check the sort of thing that Big Fatty says at the beginning and the end. What will the number of the episode be? No birthdays that day. Episode 2845

Record surrounding material for an episode called "THE DAY SHY YETI TOOK OVER THE BFO!" which will use the finished BOXING DAY episode.

Plans for a forthcoming episode...

Cast:

Paul
Yeti Uncle John
Bettina
Dameus
Martin
Cromitty
Ikk
Cuthbert (To be recorded)

Act 1:

Paul is showing the gang around the library when something weird is found that confirms that Shelving Imps are in the building... Yeti Uncle John suggests singing to them. Cromitty suggests that the peepers might drive them out. Martin just wants to sniff them. Ikk wonders what they would taste like on the side with a tasty old book. Bettina wants to take photos for her instagram account. Dameus suggests impersonating them and asking them to leave. Charlie calls and suggests they use Cuthbert. Paul says it's a good idea but gets Cromitty to set up some Sutton Park clips.

Sutton Park Clips

Act 2

Paul and Cuthbert sneak around the library late at night. Cuthbert suggests that Paul reads a poem to the listeners whilst he scans... Paul reads the poems. Cuthbert scares the shelving imps - they run onto the bus and they end up in Westminster... We can't let them go in - Cuthbert suggests that actually it might not be such a bad idea after all - the shelving imps probably know just as much as the politicians do.

Paul says goodbye to the listeners. A little uncertain.

Albert The Dragon calls in - he'd like a pet but cannot afford one - he'd like an antelope that he could name Anthony. Paul ignores him; commenting to Yeti Uncle John and Cromitty that Albert is too immature to have a pet, but he may send him a plant. Paul is excited that episode 200 is on its way. Zap is listening in.

Albert receives his pet. Two cactuses named Bert and Gert.

APRIL FOOL'S DAY 2019 EPISODE

Music 1

A BAD CASE OF THE PICKLE HOLLOWS

Cuthbert accidentally downloads a free Pickle Hollow app whilst downloading old episodes of The Smellcast and although it starts off kinda cute it gets old very quickly when random voices from the show start to fill the air. How do they delete it? Can Toppie help?

Music 1

Start episode - introduce... Telling the story to Yeti Uncle John... What happened - Cuthbert is there...

Music 2

So it all began like this...

Martin downloading Smellcast clips - Cromitty says that Cuthbert could do it quicker... They set it in motion and then go out... Paul comes by with his new book and Cuthbert says that Paul could read him something from the book whilst he downloads...

Paul reads some bits...

Cuthbert burps... He has downloaded a Smellcast app... I wonder if it's safe...

He calls Toppie but gets no reply...

They download it and it begins to say stuff... It is fun for a bit but then starts to go wrong...

Paul tries to call Toppie again - and they put a Sutton Park clip on first...

Paul has been trying to call Cromitty without much luck and Toppie is still away...

Cuthbert is dealing with the app and can't shut it down...

Eventually Cromitty returns and says that they will need a password from Toppie...

They call Toppie and he sends the password... The app is shut down!

Good grief! It's the end of the episode!

Paul is back with Cuthbert and John and everything is okay - they say goodbye...

Titles run...

Yeti Uncle John asks Cuthbert to test the app - just something from the cache...

Paul returns! Don't play about with it!

Very end titles...

Martin and Cromitty are slightly concerned...

Stuff needed from Toppie:

  • From Toppie -
  • From Aunt T
  • Even from Sassy?
  • Toppie apologising for not being in and being surprised that they were able to download the app as he thought Sassy was still developing it... The password needed to shut it down is "Aunt Tappie's Frilly Knickers" all lower-case letters
  • Toppie apologises for the app
SHY YETI AND THE HI-TECH NEW MANAGER

During a conversation with Cuthbert Paul comments that he wishes the regulars were a bit more committed to the show - as it's a lot of work to do by himself. Cuthbert says he will help all he can - but Paul comments that it might be useful to have some kind of manager or social secretary. Paul shares some more Sutton Park clips with the listeners and returns to find that Cuthbert has signed him up with a manager. This sounds like a great idea; except that he only communicates through a robot and is also especially bossy! How exactly is this going to work out?

Music 1

Start episode - introduce... Everyone is out again - Paul is a bit grumpy about it!

Music 2

Paul tells Cuthbert that he has lots of plans - but it is not easy to put them into practice with none of the gang being about.

We see flashbacks of where everyone is...

Cuthbert tells Paul that he will help - but Paul tells him that he already does enough...

Cuthbert offers to read one of Paul's poems - but Paul says that it's okay... He better do it... and he does.

Cuthbert is searching for how to help Paul...

Paul shares some Sutton Park with the listeners...

When he returns Cuthbert has signed him up with a new manager - Paul is unsure - but Cuthbert says that Control Incorporated has a five star review and is one of the best in the business. Paul's new robot assistant Rob contacts him and tells him that he will be back in contact soon...

Cuthbert is concerned that he now has a rival - but Paul tells him that Rob is probably just a diary robot and Cuthbert is a friend and that they work together on projects together - so it is quite different.

Cuthbert does the end titles and Paul is upbeat!

Titles run...

Yeti Uncle John and the others talk about this new situation - maybe we should do more?

Very end titles...

Cuthbert imagines how Rob might treat him - but Paul wakes him from his day dream and reassures him that this is not the case.
